I have a guilty pleasure. Every now and then I get the urge, and I just can’t stop myself. I’ve got to do it… But I could stop at any time. I can. Probably. Maybe.
I like to watch. I really like it.
I like to see people get “greeted” at airports.
Ok, I’ve said it. I like to watch.
Greeted? Yeah, just greeted. Really…. it’s an addiction. I love it when there are family and friends laying in wait to hug and love on an arriving traveler. I love the anticipation. I love the simplicity. I love the signs like, “We missed you Suzy” and “Welcome Home Daddy!” And I love the smiles.
I like to watch.
We all like to watch happy moments. I like to watch the celebration of the players after the Super Bowl or the World Series. I like to see laughing kids. And I like to see people get welcomed home. I’ve (three times!) waited in the lobby area of airports with families who are welcoming home their soldiers from Iraq. (Oooh…. that’s the best.)
Why? It makes me feel good; it makes me smile. It’s such a simple thing; watching other people happy makes me happy.
And my wife doesn’t even mind!
Need to bring some happiness to your workplace? (And don’t wanna take the staff to lurk at airports? Learn about my work here.
Comment! Where do YOU like to watch? What sort of things make you happy? (Keep it clean fun-seekers… my kids read this blog.)
