He is an expert on negotiation and communication and has conducted programs for the CIA, FBI, and other law enforcement agencies. He graduated the University of California, Irvine in 1979 with a degree in psychology and a minor in Bio/Chemistry. He joined Apple Computer’s Southern California representative firm in 1980. He began conducting training programs in sales and communication in 1988. He became a professional speaker in 1994 and was awarded the Certified Speaking Professional designation in 2001. He began publishing his weekly e-newsletter in October 2003. His articles and quotes have been featured in newspapers and magazines, including the Wall Street Journal – although they will probably issue a retraction if he talks about it too much.
